This album was initially supposed to be a practice in simplicity and very "one-take" sort of thing, and I also wanted to only use guitar and my voice and do all the playing myself. But I grew to dislike it and so I reworked and re-recorded lot of the songs this year. I made the first version sometime around the first year of covid, and the last song, Rainbows over Spain, was a sort of prayer, my wish for things to get better. The album itself I think ended up being equal parts sad and sweet, mostly about specific stories from my childhood and also just things that were on my mind at the time. One of the songs I kept unchanged is "Childhood", because in the middle of the recording my cat scratched on my door so I went to let her in, and that was all caught on the audio. She died few months ago so it just feels like a time capsule which I am glad exists.
